In this match, Shubman Gill also broke a special record of veteran Sachin Tendulkar. Gill scored 101 runs in 58 balls with the help of 13 fours and 1 six. Whereas, he had completed his half-century in just 22 balls without hitting any six. With this, he broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar.
In fact, Shubman Gill became the first batsman in IPL history to complete the fastest half-century without hitting a six. Gill completed his fifty in just 22 balls with the help of 9 fours. Before Gill, this record was recorded in the name of Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin Tendulkar, playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010, completed a half-century in 23 balls without hitting a six in a match played against Delhi (Delhi Daredevils in 2010). Now Gujarat Titans batsman Shubman Gill has captured this record.
